Join our campaign to alleviate human suffering
in the aftermath of war.

Bono sporting our bracelets during the Joshua Tree Tour, 2017. At Second Chance Africa, we find resonance in the message of ‘One’ which urges us to recognize our shared humanity, and the need to "carry each other’ through a world embroiled with both suffering and beauty. Thank you Bono, for your enthusiasm and support over the years!

Research indicates that over 40% of individuals exposed to war may develop Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a chronic, life-long debilitating condition. Trauma relief enables individuals to reclaim their sense of personal power, and overcome experiences once perceived insurmountable.

By purchasing a bracelet, you will help us bring effective treatment to those who need it most.

#FlySankofa

Purchase a bracelet, snap pics of you and your friends wearing Sankofa wristbands and post the hashtag #FlySankofa to share your support (or e-mail your photo to getinvolved@secondchanceafrica.org). Don’t forget to tell us where you’re from, as we will map everyone's participation across the globe and bring it to our project beneficiaries to show the world is standing with them!

The Sankofa bird is a mythological West African symbol which reminds us to gather the most meaningful lessons from our past and bring them into our present to overcome difficulties and achieve peace.

Thank you for your support!
